5 Days to go and it is NEW YEAR’S DAY!!! New Year means new beginning, new hope, new chances and new challenges. All in all, it suggests new life. We are accustomed of having our New Year’s resolution before New Year’s Day. However, we are not trained to reflect, whether our resolutions really happened, before another New Year. Most of us can’t remember anymore what our New Year’s Resolution was. So, tell me, what is the purpose of making another new year’s resolution if every resolution you have in the past year are left in the past as well?

I suggest making one, simple, specific yet heavy resolutions at a time. We have to refrain from the “simple facts”. We have to formulate a “conceptual resolution.”

Look at these resolutions:

1. I promise to drink 8 glasses of water a day.

2. I promise to eat fruits.

3. I promise to eat vegetables.

4. I promise to eat less pork.

5. I promise to take vitamins.

6. I promise to exercise daily.

It would really be hard for you to remember all your resolutions if you will do it that way. Why not say: I promise to live a healthy life for the year 2009. By that, you can repeat it to yourself every minute and every second of the day to be sure that by the end of the year, you can still remember what your resolution was and to be sure that you are really living with your resolution. It is simple yet it covers everything. :)
